Different from the last time you can now donate 25 FV, 55 FV or 240 FV

Zynga will donate 50% of the sale to the cause.

The seed itself takes 6 hours to ripe and then delivers 125 coins. It gives an enormous 3XP when planting it.

Just like the last time these crops will never wither and are only available for a week.

In terms of raw profit it delivers only 100 coins (spot #20 of the current seeds).

profit / hour

But the profit per hour is ENORMOUS:
image

It takes spot #2 of all 45 seeds that are now (or were) on the market. Only the no longer available Super Berries scores higher. So you could gain a lot of coins with your 22×22 land :)

It is not as good as a field full of the top animals or trees but for the seeds it is quite good.

You get about 50.000 coins after your 22×22 field is harvestable (after 6 hours).

XP/hour

In terms of XP produced per hour it is also the same:

image

The best crop currently available and hits the charts at #2. If you compare it with the sweet potatoes from the last campaign: that "only" delivered 0.17XP/Hour.

If all are fertilized and you put a 22×22 field full of it you gain roughly 2500 XP from it once harvested, so each 6 hours. Nice. I guess a lot of people will level quite some levels this weekend.

fast leveling conversion

As with the last seed, this is absolutely a super crop if you want to level up a level or two by doing constant crop conversion:

The costs are: 10 coins + 15 coins (plowing)
The XP is: 3 XP + 1 XP (plowing)

So you get 4 XP per 25 coins = 1 XP per 6.25 coins. Which is equal to the sweet potatoes: super leveling.

E.g. if you have10.000 coins you get 1600 XP out of it by: plowing, seeding, deleting and start over again with plowing, seeding, deleting, etc…

Apart from the statistical items from the seed itself. Here is the wonderful information from the campaign (click here to read it fully).

During the month of October, more than 234,000 permits were contributed by Farmville farmers to help children and their families through the Sweet Seeds for Haiti effort! That translates into more than $583,000 donated to Haitian children and their families.

Thank you, farmers

Where our contribution will go and how it will be used

With a population of just over ten million people, Haiti is the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere and the 7th poorest in the world. Fifty-four percent of its people live on less than one dollar a day; 80% live on less than two dollars. Zynga’s mission of connecting the world through games is enhanced by our opportunity to support the health and education of these children and their families.

Since unemployment in Haiti is so high (estimated at 30-50%), micro-loans such as those provided by one of our recipient organizations, Fonkoze, become critical to survival.

The above photos were taken by Professor Laura Hartman, Zynga’s Director of Social Strategy, during her recent visit in Haiti to our recipient organizations. The women are borrowers who will benefit from FarmVille farmers’ and Zynga’s contributions through a goat, a chicken or a small loan; and, their children will have a more financially stable family.

Most Haitians do not have adequate housing, nor proper sanitary conditions. Migration to the major cities has compounded the urban housing problem. Natural disasters, including cyclones, floods, droughts, and earthquakes, have had serious effects on the housing situation, as well. The photos below were taken during Prof. Hartman’s visit to these Fonkoze borrowers, as well.

FarmVille farmers’ and Zynga’s contributions will assist the children and their families be more effectively prepared for the housing challenges they face.

Less than half the country’s school-age children attend primary school. On the other hand, it takes only 5 years of schooling to become reasonably literate; that is, to be able to read and understand basic instructions and thereby become more effective within society. With the help of FarmVille Farmers’ and Zynga’s contributions,

Haiti can begin to wipe out illiteracy. Below are photographs of some of the schools supported by FATEM, one of Zynga’s recipient organizations.

FATEM is a non-profit organization based in Mirebalais, Haiti, and originally organized to bring information technology to the people in the region, thus helping with the economic advancement of the area. This is quite cool. I am on the Board of an organization to help Haiti school kids called BRITE, so it is inspiring to see Zynga helping out.
